Live On Stage in NWA, is a 501 (C) (3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.
The mission of Live On Stage in NWA is to provide and promote professional musical performances at an affordable price.
Our goal is to fund and expand performing arts awareness to residents of Northwest Arkansas and surrounding areas.
Through an "Outreach" program, we bring local high school student performers to our Arend Arts Center audience through a program called, "Students On Stage". These talented students perform prior to the main musical performances.
We continue to offer scholarships to worthy Benton County high school graduates who wish to pursue the study of the music arts in college. At the last concert of the 2010-2011 series six worthy students were each awarded $1,000 scholarships. Some of the scholarships were underwritten through the generosity of AARP Chapter 109, Delta Trust and Savings Bank and Dr. and Mrs. James McKenzie.
Members of the LOSNWA board of directors travel to Nashville, TN each year during the last week of July for the LIve on Stage national conferrance where they can view about 40 different artists showcasing their acts. Upon their return to Northwest Arkansas the full Board of Directors meet and with inputs from those who attended the conference select at least five performers whom they feel would be best enjoyed by our subscribers. A meeting is then arranged with a representive from Live on Stage Nashville where the selections are finalized. Scheduling problems can occur so last minute changes are possible.
